I will give some explanations on this build. Since the key feature of Asia Plus is to share staples , I decided not to take any “real” traps such as bottomless etc and key removal cards because I felt that EEV and DDV can get rid of any kind of threat , EEV declare spell kills HERO instantly and Darkworld , EEV declare trap insta kills macro matchup and all sorts of random jimmy deck. Whereas , DDV kills Mermail ,agents and mostly any kind of deck to a certain degree.

To ensure that I can “consistently” pull off at least one virus per game and to compensate the fact that I have no actual negation of summoning , I decided to play Sin Cyber End as it is a free 4000 beatstick which works wonders with skill drain on field and 2 hits of it = game and thats how I usually win my game . When I have no virus , I will just use that card to stall out and draw my discarding outlets and go for a major push.

Also , I did not play Upstart Goblins and Reckless Greed because I felt that it is and will always be a rubbish card to play in Darkworld . Personal opinion on the contrary , what if you don’t draw anything good with it and you will be stuck with 2 turns of not drawing . The rest of it is pretty standard and 3 skill drain is a personal tech choice because I want to draw into it more often.

The side deck is also a random mix of good cards which works against almost every deck but most of the time I will side a few cards in because its very hard to side deck with Darkworld , removing one discard outlet/darkworld monster will hinder the consistency of drawing into them.

Foolish Burial is in the side deck because my teammate did the registration wrongly and it ended up in there and one DDV went into the main deck making it 2 , so ignore it. However , the DDV ended up being the MVP of almost every game I played yesterday.

Heres the record of the games I played with this deck yesterday and on the 1st qualifier.

Making it a 6-1 record , only losing at the finals but thankfully my pro teammate bixuan 2-0 everyone at the top 8 with Mermail and William’s super high level gaming skills with HERO won too by a slight margin. All good things must come to an end and that loss yesterday at the finals ended my undefeated streak of playing Darkworld at 11-1 combining last year’s score too. At least it was a pretty good run ^^.

I may or may not play Darkworld at the main event , I might change what I am playing at Hong Kong depends on my team’s planning and strategy. Gotta bring the gold and Mermail mat back to Singapore man.

Thanks for reading.

And the winner of Asia Plus is….

21 Oct

My team !

Featuring 2 of the gold medals ( 1st prize medals , William’s medal not being in there because he abandoned us to follow the Ah Soo gang for dinner 😦  ) and 3 bronze medals which belongs to Team Aequus’s Shaun Shaun and Wei ann , picture was taken when we were  having our celebratory dinner. Congrats to them too for getting third place !

A hell of a day and the product of a year long journey after getting eliminated from the Top 8 of last year’s Asia Plus Qualifier.

Here are the decks of choice my team used for the event .

Me : Dark World

William : HERO

Bixuan : Mermail Atlantean

I will post the decklist of my darkworld deck tomorrow since a lot of people requested for it but i think by the time I post it up , duelingdays probably already posted it .. oh well. However there are 2 builds i used for Asia Plus, one is the PreQualifier build and the Qualifier build. I will post both of it tomorrow.

I would like to thank everyone who supported my team all the way and believed that we will win.

Thank you and Team Singapore ( no longer KOI )  will definitely do our best at Hong Kong.

Asia Plus is here !

20 Oct

In less than 12 hours time I will be making my way down to the event venue , players who are seeded into the top 8 can come at 2pm so that’s why yeah.

I am done with my intensive “training ” and preparation for the upcoming challenge ahead. Just gotta shower and watch the latest episode of Sword Art Online which is at 3am before sleeping and calling it a day.

My team is definitely prepared for it and ready to win this ( again for William ) and for me and Bixuan our 1st Asia Plus win .

I wish everyone the best of luck and may the best team win.

Duelist Set

19 Oct

News about the reprint of M7 and Ouroboros are out on yugioh, and it seems that they are gonna reprint it as part of the Duelist Set which I believe is similar to the Duelist Box 2011 , it includes the following :

  • 1 Stock Case
  • 1 Storage Case
  • 70 Card Protector Sleeves
  • 1 Duel Field
  • 1 Preconstructed Deck (41 cards)
  • 1 Promotional Card
  • 1 Rulebook
  • 1 Playing Guide

There are 2 sets and the links are below…

 : Verz / LSwarm Deck

: Constellar / Sacred Deck

You can read more about it at

1. Verz Rabbit deck will be legal in the Asia Format because of the Verz cards getting reprinted into this set. Verz Heliotrope , Thunderbird and Castor and the rest of it.

2. The super rares of both set have similar effects and is really very good . Tour Guide mixes even much better in the Verz Rabbit deck because of the super rare’s effect to reuse their counterparts and remove each other from game.

Evilswarm Cercyon:

You can banish 1 “lswarm” monster from your Graveyard to target 1 “lswarm” monster in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand. This effect of “Evilswarm Cercyon” can only be activated once per turn. Once, during your Main Phase 1 of the turn you use this effect: You can Normal Summon 1 “lswarm” monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) During the turn this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can Tribute Summon 1 “lswarm” monster with 1 less Tribute than required.

3. I expect both the M7 and Ouroboros card sleeves to be pretty sick and awesome since all Duelist Box / Duel disk set sleeves are much nicer than ordinary sleeves other than the TCG WCQ sleeves.

4. There will be a DX set which includes both the Verz and Constellar set and both cover cards : Verz Ouroboros and M7 to be secret rare instead of ultra rare in the normal individual set.

That’s all for this post.

Counting down to Asia Plus

17 Oct

4 more days to the main event  , Singapore’s qualifier that is.

Wishing the best of luck to everyone participating .

P.S. Any kind soul can lend/borrow/let me free load a No.22 Fran Ken for Sunday 😉 ?

[Deck] Thunder Seahorse Deck

1 Oct

A build I made up on DN. Not the best build but it is the current build for it.

Has many many tricks and combo.

Seahorse -> Double Sishunder > Normal Sishunder remove seahorse  > Next turn seahorse into double pahunder/mahunder and rinse and repeat.

The 3 VE cards are the main combo starters for the deck . The rest act as back up making it like a rich man’s twilight deck.

Verz Thunderbird and the TGU engine are the darks for the BLS and Chaos sorceror and for a potential OTK push . Maxx C and veiler are staples.

Extra deck has exclusive monsters such as Omega , M7 , Paladios all being Light attribute and are only available for Light decks. Since the deck is mostly light and all of the main cards search each other out easily , it can summon them rather easily. Chaos Hope is in there because most of the time you will have rather low lifepoints because I do not run defensive traps and the main cards ( sishunder mahunder pahunder) have generally low attack. Double Black corn is because one is never enough for a deck which dishes out rank 4 exceeds every turn.

And a fun fact is that Mahunder , pahunder can summon Rai-oh as an additional summon too.

Thunder Seahorse

30 Sep

So I was looking through some stuff on Yugioh Wikia and then i came across this card which I remembered was in one of a yugioh trader’s stuff for sale from Japan.

The artwork was pretty decent and since it is a VJUMP card which I haven’t seen before I asked how much it was and he replied me $95 dollars and that went me go WTF? Why is this card so expensive was what I questioned myself before returning the card to him as its price tag was definitely not worth it .. that was what I thought until now.

Looking through some pages on wikia I found out that this card is a 6th month promo for VJUMP and that explains its super high price tag however its effect is what made me think twice about paying that amount for a card.

Effect : During your Main Phase: You can discard this card; add 2 Level 4LIGHTThunder-Typemonsters with 1600 or less ATK and the same name from your Deck to your hand. The effect of “Thunder Seahorse” can only be used once per turn. You cannot Special Summon the turn you activate this effect.

1st thing that came to my mind was the VE7 cards which features the Thunder base archetypes. Trying a way to make this card useful/gamebreaking before I buy it. Any suggestions?
